Recommendation: Beautiful Mistake by Vi Keeland

Recommendation: Beautiful Mistake by Vi Keeland

Let’s cut to the chase: Vi Keeland’s Beautiful Mistake is drop-dead sexy, breathtakingly romantic, intricately layered, jaw-droppingly unpredictable, and deliciously satisfying. It stands out in the vast and overwhelming sea of contemporary romance and will, undoubtedly, be on my Best of 2017 list. If I’ve adequately piqued your curiosity, do not waste another moment before starting Beautiful Mistake. If you need a little more convincing, see my full review at All About Romance.   Keeland breathes life into Caine and Rachel’s characters through insightful flashbacks and well-placed hints into both their pasts and their current psyches, and this gives them dimension and makes them relatable. Each interaction, moment, and exchange are carefully constructed pieces of a complicated puzzle that slowly creates a picture and tells a story that is […]

Recommendation: Chasing Vivi by A.M. Hargrove

Recommendation: Chasing Vivi by A.M. Hargrove

Chasing Vivi is a fun and sexy romance that you do not want to miss. Vivi and Prescott knew each other in high school—sort of. She was the chubby, studious girl who helped him with his schoolwork, and he was the popular, hot guy who ignored her, except when he needed help with his schoolwork. They run into each other years later, and Prescott is gobsmacked by the older Vivi. She has lost weight and dresses better, but he is not smitten just because she looks different. Vivi is now sassy and confident and doesn’t act interested in him, which he finds to be a big turn on. She turns down his attempts to ask her out. Vivi suffered in high school, and in many […]

Recommendation: Checkmate: This is Dangerous by Kennedy Fox

Recommendation: Checkmate: This is Dangerous by Kennedy Fox

This is Dangerous is the first book in a duet and part of Kennedy Fox’s Checkmate Duet series. It does end in a cliffhanger, but, luckily, the second book, will be out September 12, 2017.   Logan and Kayla are both incredibly endearing characters, and This is Dangerous is a sweet and sexy love story with an interesting plot. Logan is a single father who has avoided relationships in order to focus on his daughter, who he does not get to see often because she lives out of town. He and Kayla met through mutual friends, and he’s attracted to her but knows he’s not a good bet.   Kayla is very interested in Logan, but he’s made it loud and clear that he’s only […]

Reader’s POV & Must-Reads: Timber! Someone just fell in love hard

Reader’s POV & Must-Reads: Timber! Someone just fell in love hard

I’m giddy when a heroine or hero finds themselves utterly and completely head over heels in love. Worlds are tilted, heads are spun, and lives are altered, and the sheer romance of witnessing this tumble leaves me smiling like a loon. Authors wow with their ability to vividly portray these overwhelming emotions, allowing the reader to feel every breathtaking moment, and it’s the ultimate feel-good reading experience. Clear the area, because the heroines and heroes in these must-read romances are about to be felled by love. Train Wreck by T. Gephart I’ve never read T. Gephart before consuming Train Wreck in one sitting, but I downloaded her backlist after reading this sexy and swoony romance. Eve Thorton grew up wealthy and doesn’t have to work, […]

Recommendation: Steal by Rachel Van Dyken

Recommendation: Steal by Rachel Van Dyken

Rachel Van Dyken never disappoints, and Steal is a sexy and fun second-chance romance with a lot of heart and a touch of angst. Angelica and Will have a complicated history. They were both child stars – he was in a mega-successful boy band, and she was an actress and starlet. They met and fell in love hard. They were both passionate about spending their lives together, but they were also still kids. Angelica developed an addition to drugs, which ultimately tore them apart and also damaged her career.   Five years later, Will is no longer singing and is now a Hollywood agent. He agrees to take on Angelica as a client when no one else will, and she gets a career-saving part in […]

Recommendation: Dr. ER by Max Monroe

Recommendation: Dr. ER by Max Monroe

Max Monroe is back and better than ever. Dr. ER is everything I’ve come to expect from this amazing author duo – tons of laugh out loud moments, a too-die-for, hot hero with his perfectly matched heroine, kindle-fogging moments, and a fun, heartfelt and memorable plot.  Obviously, I loved Dr. ER , and you will too. Dr. Scott Shepard is featured in a television docuseries and has earned the nickname Dr. Erotic, and he loves the attention. He’s laid back, hilarious, phenomenal doctor, and handsome; therefore, he has no problem finding dates but the show amplifies his game. He’s become a bit of a public figure, but this gregarious and charismatic guy is just fine with that. He meets gossip columnist Harlow Paige when he […]

Recommendation: Prom Queen by Katie Robert

Recommendation: Prom Queen by Katie Robert

Prom Queen is a quick and sexy second-chance romance that has all the feels. Jessica Jackson was NOT nice to people in high school, and ten years later she’s not proud of how she acted. She’s so embarrassed that she does not want to return to her small Texas town for her 10-year reunion, especially since she is single and hasn’t achieved her lofty career goals. She’s also nervous that she will see her ex-boyfriend, Jake Davis, because she has regrets on how she broke things off with him and has never truly gotten over him. Her best friends manipulate her into renting a date for the reunion in order to give her the fortitude to attend. Well, Jake happens to own that date rental company, and he’s […]

Recommendation: Rock Star by Stacey Kennedy

Recommendation: Rock Star by Stacey Kennedy

Stacey Kennedy’s Rock Star is a swoon-worthy, second-chance romance. It’s incredibly sexy while still being fun and heartfelt, and I loved every page. Rae Evans and Travis Walker were desperately in love in high school, but let each other go in order to allow each other pursue their dreams. Travis moved to New York to be a musician, and Rae stayed in Texas to follow her dreams of becoming a veterinarian. Ten years later, both have achieved their goals, but also feel there is something missing in their lives – something like love. Travis is now a world famous rock star, but he realizes his life is empty. He’s never been as happy as he was with Rae, and he wants more of that genuine […]

Recommendation: The King by Skye Warren

Recommendation: The King by Skye Warren

The King is the first part of Skye Warren’s Masterpiece Duet, and it is gritty, gut-wrenching, and mesmerizing. It is definitely a darker romance, and readers should be aware the heroine is only fifteen and sexually assaulted. I normally avoid these sorts of stories, but Skye Warren handles it well. Penny had a horrible childhood and grew up in poverty, and she is far older than her fifteen years because of all that she has seen. She meets Damon Scott as a child when basically sacrifices himself to keep her safe from his own father. He grows up to become crime boss competing against his father, and he is still trying to keep Penny safe. Penny is a genius, but she hides her intelligence to prevent people from trying […]
