Two strangers in Paris ...
One passionate, earth-shattering kiss.
He was the artist upstairs
with the tantalizing smile and laughing eyes.
He was the devil inviting me to sin,
seducing me to dance in the bright moonlight.
He was desire and need.
When he touched me, my body sang.
My soul came alive.
But I belonged to another man,
and he didn't want to let me go.
Mia Asher’s Love Me in the Dark is an emotional, gut-wrenching and beautiful book, and reading it was both exhausting and extremely satisfying. This story is not for the faint of heart or anyone uncomfortable with love triangles. Your heart will be broken, but Ms. Asher WILL put it back together. Just hold on tight and get ready for an angsty and thought-proving journey.
Valentina’s marriage is on the rocks, but she is trying save it and takes a trip to Paris where her husband will join her. He doesn’t due to work, which is a pattern in their relationship, and she is in Paris alone. She attends an art show, where she has mind-blowing, passionate kiss with a stranger – Sebastian.
She and Sebastian slowly get to know each other, and Valentina begins to see a new direction for her life. Just as she does, her husband, William, returns and makes her reconsider whether they belong together or not. She leaves Sebastian – and a piece of heart – to be with William.
Valentina’s experience with Sabastien has given her the confidence to keep questioning her relationship with William and has motivated her to truly consider what she wants and needs. I was on the edge of my seat with my stomach tied in knots waiting for this to play out and hurting for all of the parties involved. It was simply heartbreaking and riveting.
We definitely do not get to know Sabastien as well, but I think he was supposed to remain more of a mystery. He’s definitely sexy, thoughtful and kind, and he obviously loves Valentina. Love Me in the Dark is an extremely memorable and fascinating book; you will be thinking it about for days after you finish.
